Supporter acquisition asks a different question

Mission support is built on participation, not persuasion.

Commercial acquisition language transfers poorly to mission work. People don't become supporters because they were convinced; they do it because the work matched something they already cared about and the path to participate was clear.

That makes clarity the priority: what the organization does, who it serves, and the specific way this person can help — a membership, a recurring gift, an event, a volunteer shift.

Respectful conversation matters more here than anywhere. A poor interaction costs more than a missed donation; it costs public goodwill.
